classes
Our classes are taught by Michael C. Williams. Michael has been teaching in Westchester for five years now. His are the only classes offered in the area where students can study with someone who is actively working in the business. His classes challenge the actor to always be truthful within the circumstances of the play and to trust in their instincts. Michael believes that in “finding the character,” one truly begins to find themselves. Above all, Michael believes that the process should be a fun and rewarding one.
Scene Study:
In the scene study class, the actor will be given a short, contemporary scene. After being paired up with a scene partner, the actor will immediately start a challenging yet enjoyable rehearsal process. They will learn about connecting with their scene partners as well as playing an action and living truthfully in the moment. Every actor will work in every class. The acting technique learned in this class will prepare the actor for work on the stage as well as film and television.
Improvisation:
The improvisation class is an invaluable tool for every actor. It will enable the actor to cut loose and think on their feet. It is a fast pace class with plenty of games and wild exercises. The actor will learn the technique similar to the ones used at The Second City in Chicago as well as The Groundling in Los Angeles.
On Camera Acting:
The actor will be given short scenes from film and television to perform in front of the camera. From “cold readings” at auditions to fully rehearsed scenes, this class will enable the actor to experience real time in front of a camera to better prepare them for the future.
Private coaching:
Private coaching for auditions or any other purpose is available at the rate of 40 dollars for a half an hour or 60 dollars an hour.
Class Location:
Our classes are held at Broadway City Style in Hawthorne NY.
