The Big Blue Door Theatre Company was founded in the summer of 2007 by Michael C. and Toni Williams.

A dream that they thought would take a lifetime to achieve turned into a simple plan on a late summer evening while sitting on their front stoop, watering their lawn.

“Won’t it be nice when we have our little theatre company?” asked Michael.

“Yeah,” Toni replied.

A long, reflective silence ensued.

Toni broke the silence with, “Why don’t we have one now?”

She followed up the simple thought with, “Let’s do it.”

The couple agreed.

They realized in that moment that they have always been surrounded by everything they would need to start a theatre company. Good material, talented people, and the passion to share it all with an audience.

We are thrilled that you have decided to share this with us.  So… as the lights dim… get comfortable, we hope that it is going to be a long run.

About the Founders -

Michael C. Williams

Michael has been a professional actor for over a decade. He received his Bachelor’s degree in theatre from SUNY New Paltz and has since gone on to work in theatre, film and television.  Most notably, Michael has starred in films such as THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and ALTERED.  He can currently be seen in IFC Films’ THE OBJECTIVE which is playing in theatres in NY, LA and On Demand.  He also recently shot the title role in the indy film TOM AND MARLO.  Recent guest starring roles on television include LAW AND ORDER: SVU as well as the original LAW AND ORDER and WITHOUT A TRACE. Michael is thrilled to call Big Blue his creative home.

Toni Williams 

Toni has been involved in the theatre and entertainment industry in one capacity or another since the early nineties when she graduated from Marist College with a communications degree in television/radio/and film.  Toni has worked closely with some of the industry’s top casting directors including Shiela Jaffe (The Sopranos/Entourage) and Denise Chamian (Pirates of the Caribbean/Saving Private Ryan).  The Big Blue Door Theatre Company is very much a dream realized for Toni and she is looking forward to helping it grow.
